JReport Designer provides a highly flexible report development environment and offers a number features and functions that speed the report creation and deployment process, including:

Once designed, Reports are published to the JReport Enterprise Server for on-demand viewing, analyzing, scheduling, or versioning. Multiple reports may be combined into a single report set that re-uses a data set for improved report generation performance.

Analysis functions are designed for analyzing reports by performing tasks as simple as clicking or dragging within the familiar environment of a Web browser. Working through a DHTML report running on JReport Live Server, analysis functions support the following end-user tasks:
- Insert or remove a measure, dimension, detail
- Convert a crosstab to a chart, or a chart to a crosstab
- Rotate
- Pivot
- Move a component
- Drill action (Drill to, Drill to by value and Drill down)
